The program provides advanced digital fabrication instruction for students through an unique, hands-on curriculum and access to technological tools and resources.
The educational program is subdivided in weekly assignments from rapid prototyping to additive manufacturing, programming, software development, electronics and interaction design. The classes are held directly by Neil Gershenfeld, who introduces all topics and personally reviews the assignments. In every Fab lab participating all students are follow by local instructors who guides them thorugh the development of the exercises.

RESHAPE Wearable Competition – Call for projects

We are happy to announce our contribution as media partners to the RESHAPE 15 | wearable technology competition. RESHAPE 15 is the second edition of a competition organised by the young and innovative design firm Noumena Architecture, working at the intersection of computational tools and digital fabrication. Here is the brief of the competition :

Today, disciplines as programming and electronics become highly transversal, blurring old boundaries and merging different fields of knowledge. Fashion has been already highly affected by this radical change. Therefore, clothes, shoes and other accessories can now incorporate elements of hardware and software, generating a peculiar mix between fashion and computation that is incredibly fertile and inspiring. Data becomes Beauty, Interaction becomes Emotion.

As a result, a new aesthetic is emerging. Reshape focuses on the definition of this language, proposing a new challenge to makers and designers: RESHAPE15 | wearable technology competition.

Proposals can focus on the possibilities of wearable technology without any design limitation.
